Akihiro Woodworksのエキシビション「晴耕雨読」の会場に田んぼを作りました。アキヒロファミリーが木工仕事の傍らずっと共にしてきた原風景の「田んぼ」。霜がおりて完全に枯れさがってしまう前の苗を温室で加温し、肥料をあげてフレッシュな緑色の稲に仕立てました。初めての試みでしたが、苗の仕込みから、現場での設置までとても刺激的なプロジェクト。「田の神さぁ」の彫刻は稲が良く似合う。

The rice field is a timeless landscape—one that the Akihiro family has lived alongside while continuing their woodworking practice. Just before the seedlings would have fully withered under frost, we brought them into a greenhouse, gently warmed them, and nourished them with fertilizer, restoring them to a fresh, vibrant green.

It was our first attempt at something like this, and the entire process—from preparing the seedlings to installing them on site—was an incredibly stimulating project.

At the venue, you can also experience the carved sculpture “Tanokamisaa” and Akihiro Woodworks’ iconic Jin Cup.
