Parodia haselbergiiは雪晃とも呼ばれるサボテン。ブラジル南部原産で、サボテンの中でも成長が早く、上に水が溜まらないように少し傾いているのが特徴です。

サボテンの花は1日で枯れてしまうものが多い中、Parodia haselbergiiは晩冬から早春にかけて2ヶ月ほど花を楽しむことができます。
まさに今が花の開花時期で、次々と短い茎の上に花をポコポコ咲かせています。サボテンの花は、この見た目でこんなに明るく綺麗な色の花を咲かせていたら、現地でもすぐに見つけることができるだろうなと思うほど濃い綺麗な色の花を咲かせます。このParodia haselbergiiの花の色は力強いオレンジで、普段あまり見た目の変化がないサボテンでも、年に一度見せてくれる鮮やかなお花を見ると嬉しくなります。

綺麗な球体に白い棘が均等に生えているParodia haselbergiiは、やはりテラコッタ調の鉢と抜群に相性が良く、Araheamではロサンゼルスを拠点にサボテンなどを専門としたCactus Storeのオリジナルポットや、北関東で作られる土器に合わせて植え込みました。

Parodia haselbergii is a cactus also known as “SEKOU” in Japanese.
Native to southern Brazil, it grows quickly and is characterized by its slightly slanted shape to prevent water from accumulating on top. While most cactus flowers wither within a day, Parodia haselbergii flowers can be enjoyed for about two months from late winter to early spring. Now is the time for the flowers to bloom, and you can see beautiful flowers at our store. The flower color of this Parodia haselbergii is deep orange, and even though the cactus doesn’t usually change its appearance much, it is a color that makes you happy that it is alive and well, and it blooms abundantly.
Parodia haselbergii, which has a beautiful spherical shape with even white spines, goes perfectly with terracotta-style pots. We planted Parodia haselbergii in original pots from Los Angeles-based Cactus Store, which specializes in cacti. We also planted them in “DOKI”; Japanese traditional style terracotta pots made in Northern Kanto.
